Hi, I'm Slackwarrior!

A friendly, helpful bot that can
assist you in managing your tasks.

How can Slackwarrior help me?

Leveraging the powers of Taskwarrior and inthe.am Slackwarrior can assist you in managing your tasks on Slack.

Slackwarrior can add tasks for you with different priorities, assign them to projects and add tags to categorize them. It can show you your current tasks in different ways and "start" and "stop" them for you to track the time you work on a task. And once you're done you can tell it to mark your task as completed.

So what is Taskwarrior?

To quote the Taskwarrior website:

Taskwarrior is Free and Open Source Software that manages your TODO list from the command line. It is flexible, fast, and unobtrusive. It does its job then gets out of your way.

It is very powerful and offers a ton of features, many of which are not supported by Slackwarrior. So if you need more than a simple task list you should really take a look.

And how does inthe.am fit in?

On the one hand inthe.am is a public Taskwarrior server which allows you to sync your tasks among different devices. On the other hand it's also a website you can use to work on your task list with any browser. And it offers an HTTP API which is what Slackwarrior works with. So to use Slackwarrior you'll need an account over there. It's completely free and you can sign up with your Google account.

Alright, how do I get started?

If you want to take a look and find out whether Slackwarrior is for you, you should join us on the Slackwarrior Slack team. This is also where you can get help if you ever need some.

Once you're hooked up and want Slackwarrior on your own Slack team you can add it here. Or you can get it on GitHub and run your own instance.
